Susie Hunt

Susie Hunt trained at Art College receiving a BA (Hons) Fine Art – Painting, in 1980. She taught for the Adult Education Service and also privately for many years and she started leading painting groups at home and abroad ten years ago.

She works with art societies around the country, specialising in workshops on watercolour, mixed media and life work.

Susie is renowned for her encouragement of outdoor sketching using a variety of materials, and importantly, showing how then to interpret that work into more resolved paintings.

She is a stimulating and thoughtful tutor who encourages all levels of ability. With a strong foundation in traditional techniques, she moves her classes gently into the contemporary use of water-based media. Susie concentrates primarily on her own work in her studio near Inverurie.

She is a professional member of The Aberdeen Artists Society and is the founder and chair of the newly formed North East Open Studios. (The largest open studio project in Scotland)

Apart from solo shows in England, Scotland and Norway, she has had work included in R.W.S at Bankside Galleries London, R.I. at the Mall Galleries, S.W.A at Westminster Halls, Kent Painters Group, and Art for Youth North and London.

Susie has been featured artist in Artist and Illustrator Magazine, and has written pieces for that publication.
